The Speed of Continuous Gravitational Waves

Der Dopplereffekt durch die Erdumlaufbahn ermöglicht die Identifikation zahlreicher GW im Frequenzbereich um 0,3 mHz. Die Auswertung der Phasenmodulation ergibt einen höheren Frequenzhub als die relativistische Dopplerverschiebung erlaubt. Eine mögliche Erklärung ist, dass die Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeit der GW geringer als die Lichtgeschwindigkeit und frequenzabhängig ist.

The Doppler effect caused by the earth's orbit enables the identification of numerous GW in the frequency range around 0.3 mHz. The evaluation of the phase modulation results in a higher frequency deviation than the relativistic Doppler shift allows. One possible explanation is that the speed of propagation of the GW is lower than the speed of light and is frequency dependent.
