The unification of general relativity and quantum mechanics is a century long quest. This paper presents a gedankenexperiment how the unification of general relativity and quantum mechanics could look like. The basic assumption of the gedankenexperiment is that any velocity is a probability mixture between being static and moving with lightspeed. Furthermore, it is assumed that matter is allowed only to exist at discrete locations in space. Within the gedankenexperiment, two gluons share the burden of a hypothetical graviton; three fermions form a gravitino. Existing measurements from general relativity can be explained within the stated gedankenexperiment.
