Spanish Flu and Covid-19

Authors: H. Dhaliwal

There are several published accounts of 100+ year old patients that have recovered from COVID-19. These 100+ year old COVID-19 infected and recovered patients were infants during the 1918 Spanish flu and may have been exposed to the virus. It may be possible that they have developed antibodies to the Spanish Flu which may be effective against COVID-19 or have had an immune response that was able to survive COVID-19. A vaccine or antibodies targeting the Spanish Flu, or any viruses similar to the Spanish Flu such as Swine Flu or H1N1 may be a potential treatment or preventative treatment for COVID-19. Further research is required.
