The Doppler effect is the most important phenomenon in wave physics. This phenomenon, theoretically justified in 1842 by the Austrian physicist Christian Doppler, was later named after him. The Doppler effect is a change in the frequency and, accordingly, the wavelength of radiation perceived by the observer (receiv-er), due to the movement of the radiation source relative to the observer (receiver). In this paper, the formulas of the Doppler effect are derived, and the methods of localization of the observer in an absolute inertial frame of reference are considered.
