There are various factors affecting training and competition performances of athletes. Motoric characteristics the athletes have play an important role among these factors. Especially the motoric characteristics the athletes have peculiar to a branch of sports affect the results of a competition directly. Among these motoric characteristics, jumping force has a distinct role, as it is an important factor in winning a game both in team sports and individual sports. From this aspect, especially in sport branches that depend mainly on jumping performance, the development of jumping skills of athletes becomes crucial. Although there are various methods to develop jumping performances, especially the plyometric trainings are thought to have important positive effects. Results of various studies in literature support this idea. This study focused on jumping performance in sports and the importance of plyometric trainings in developing jumping performance.
